A big
WELL DONE to all those swimmers who competed in the 3rd round.
A fantastic effort and a well deserved victory. It was a close
run gala with some very tight finishes. Swimmers produced
some excellent performances and personal best times to win
the event. The team supported each other throughout the gala
creating an excellent team spirit. Swimmers were equally well
supported by their friends and family watching from the balcony
who I am sure found the event as exciting as we all did on
poolside.
On behalf
of all the poolside staff, we were proud of the commitment
and effort from the whole team and now look forward to lots
of fun at the finals in September.

Gavin
Tipper memorial Gala
Wombourne – 21st June 2008
A
big WELL DONE to all those swimmers who took part in the Gavin
Tipper Memorial Gala on Saturday. A fantastic effort and a
well deserved Win for the Team. Swimmers supported each other
throughout the gala creating an excellent team spirit. All
swimmers gave of their best, with some good personal best
times also achieved. Swimmers were equally well supported
by their friends and family watching from the balcony.
The
Gala was in memory of a popular Black Country Athlete, Gavin
Tipper, who passed away in August 2007. I have no doubt that
the standard of swimming and performance of all those present,
was a fitting tribute to Gavin.

25th August - Bank Holiday - No Swimming.
Aldersley
Pool - Summer Closure.
- Thursday
17th July Last session before summer break.
- Whilst
Aldersley is closed the following arrangements apply;
- Junior
Blue group who train at Aldersley on Wednesdays move
to Central 7.30 - 8.30pm
- Juniors
who train at Aldersley on Thursdays move to Central
7.00 - 8.00pm.
- Wednesday
Seniors/Senior Blue/Masters no training.
- Masters
Swimming
- Tuesday
8.00 - 9.00pm at Central
- Thursday
7.00 - 8.00pm at Central
- Wednesday
10th September First session back after the summer break.

you have any queries regarding any of the above closures or
alternative arrangements please speak to Jane or Kate.

Swimmers
at Wolverhampton Swimming Club recently raised £1,000
for the Teenage Cancer Trust through Otto's Challenge.
A small number of the swimmers involved in the sponsored
swim are seen here presenting Otto with the cheque at
the Hereford Open Meet on the 18th of November.

Wolverhampton
Swimming Club are proud to announce that 4 of it's members
were presented with the "Award of Merit" by
Wolverhampton City Sports Advisory Council on the evening
of Tuesday 20th November.
Ben
Thomas, Chris Fox, Kate Mullinder and Jane Cooling recipients
of the "Award of Merit" are seen pictured here
at the presentation evening with the Mayor of Wolverhampton
Councillor Trudy Brown.
In
addition to the awards of merit we are also very pleased
to announce that Margaret
Holmes was awarded the RV Cook Memorial Trophy in recognition
of her 54 years’ service to Wolverhampton Swimming
Club. Margaret can be seen here collecting her trophy
from the Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Trudy Brown.
