Wolverhampton Swimming Club

Monthly Committee Meeting April 2006

"In Brief"

At Aprils meeting it was decided that the newly formed “Social Committee” should bank money raised, under a separate heading in the accounts and it was announced that the first deposit would be the £180 raised by the recent raffle. Anyone interested in joining the Social Committee and helping to raise funds, which will be used for the benefit of the children, should contact Paul or Sue Millington. It was decided that our new treasurer, Wol Polenski, should be opted onto the committee immediately until he can be voted on at the AGM.

Stephen Cockayne expressed a desire to discontinue collecting the Bonus Ball money and this was taken on by Sue Millington and Alison Burke. Stephen was thanked by the committee for all his efforts. The money from the Bonus Ball will also go into the Social Fund. I believe there is still an opportunity to join if you fancy a flutter.
It was agreed that we should ask Matt Mitchell to continue to run the Ickle People Meet using his Software.

The Constitution of the Club is to be rewritten using the ASA guidelines. All clubs have been asked to do this.

The results of the vote for Vice Captain were announced and it was a draw between Dermott Kennedy and Joe Vaughan. It was decided that they should share this position.
Congratulations were offered to Stephen Cockayne when it was announced that he and his daughter Rachael had both passed their Level 1 teachers qualification.

Finally I chose this meeting to announce my intention to resign as Club Secretary. There are many reasons for this decision. I have, however, agreed to stay on and help this dedicated team of volunteers until a suitable replacement has been found.

Carol Cockayne Hon Secretary.
