Monthly Committee Meeting February 2006

"In Brief"

The meeting for February started on a sad note with the resignation of our Club Treasurer, Matt Mitchell. Matt has been on the Committee since 1988 when he was Club Captain. He has held many voluntary positions within the Club including Membership Secretary, Competition Secretary and swim 21 co-ordinator. In total he has held 27 positions within the swimming world, representing the Club on Committees at Staffordshire ASA and Midland District. His most noteworthy accomplishment has been taking over as Treasurer with an overspend of £25,000 and in 3years we now manage to break even.

Our Coach, Jane attended this months meeting with an action plan for the progression of swimmers from our Sharks Learn to Swim School to competitive swimming. It looks like an exciting programme and we wish her luck.

We still seem to be having trouble with Aldersley’s water condition and so we are taking our findings to a higher level. We also discussed the lack of diving facilities and this is to be taken in hand.
