Wolverhampton
Swimming Club
Monthly Committee Meeting January 2006
"In
Brief"
The
Chairman, Mr David Fereday greeted the newly elected
members. He explained to them that the committee exists
for the good of all swimmers from learners to Masters
and Officials.
The treasurer’s books had not been received from
the auditor at this point but the Chairman will endeavour
to bring this to a speedy resolution.
Mrs
Cook brought a First Aid Kit to the meeting for the
Committee’s approval. These were approved and
are to be purchased for poolside staff.
Stephen Cockayne reported that he had asked about the
provision of food at Central Baths, at a recent Sports
Advisory meeting. He was told by officers of the Council
that the facility had been closed down due to Healthy
eating and Health and Safety.
Sharks
Swim School Gala was well received and Kim is looking
for further galas to enter.
There
is still concern regarding the water quality at Aldersley
pool. Mr Tony Ward has offered to carry out a water
quality test.
It
was unanimously agreed, after discussion, that as an
observer in meetings would not be allowed to contribute
to discussions within or outside meetings there would
be little benefit to the club.
Mr
Millington is to include photos and information on Committee
Members on the web site.
It
was agreed that the Presentation night went well but
that a wider choice of food might be given next year.
Congratulations
to Mr Ian Hadley on passing his Assistant Teachers course
and thanks for providing the lane hooks.
Finally,
there is still a place on the Committee. If anyone is
interested please see a current Committee Member who
will point you in the right direction.
Carol
Cockayne Hon Secretary.
