Wolverhampton
Swimming Club
Monthly Committee Meeting June 2005
"In
Brief"
This
month the committee discussed the proposed joint Club
Gala with Bilston swimming club. The parents who attended
the meeting last week were in agreement and most thought
it was a good idea. Our next step is to put our proposals
to Bilston and wait for their Committee to discuss it
before coming back to us.
We
also discussed the new web site which has been developed
by Paul Millington. The Committee felt that it is looking
good and that Paul has some good ideas for making it
even better. It was felt that some information regarding
the Swim 21 accreditation should be included. We are
trying to get someone to present the certificate at
the presentation evening.
One
of our parents has agreed to work out a “Phone
Tree” to make it easier to contact people in the
event of a pool closure. She is awaiting telephone numbers
from Dave Fereday, our Chairman.
The
cost effectiveness of a coach to Leamington Spa on 2nd
July was discussed and it was felt that the only way
the Club could afford it was if the coach were full.
Wayne
Stevens, our Competition Secretary, was congratulated
on his success in the Masters Counties Championships.
Matt
Mitchell, our Treasurer, was congratulated on receiving
the Presidents Trophy for services to swimming. This
was awarded by past Presidents.
Congratulations
are to be sent to Jacob Laybourne for achieving so many
National Qualifying times.
The
possibility of a Club Photo to include Chris Fox before
his disappearance to Australia was discussed and this
is to be arranged.
We
were informed by Tony Ward that a timekeeper’s
course is to be run and Stephen Cockayne is to see who
wishes to attend.
Carol
Cockayne Hon Secretary.
